Socially distanced outdoor school photography

We have picked up on a lot of radio chatter this week from parents who are frustrated by the fact that their children can share the same home but not the same school photograph.

Regulations dictate that Bubbles within the school environment are forbidden from mixing, so quite rightly, children who may well live together are finding themselves unable to have their photos taken in that sibling ‘grip’ that we’ve come to know and love.

Equally perplexed by this, we decided to offer our regular schools the opportunity to move outside of the school grounds for some perfectly legitimate sibling portraits in the local park.

Our socially distanced, outdoor photography has been successfully taking place over the last couple of weeks with many families. We have even found, ironically, that it is more successful than usual, since older children from secondary school, and the baby from pre-school are all able to join in the fun. Even the family dog can get his nose in if you like!

All we need is a little clement autumn weather, a leafy spot close to school and a specified time, and we could bring this service to your school (or at least very close by!)

On the whole, sibling shoots are taking place directly after school pickup, so that children are still in their uniforms, but since (apart from being at a safe distance) there are no rules…you can come as you like!

Head Teachers have been more than willing to give their blessing to this, since it is servicing a need that they are currently unable to meet within the school confines, and since families are contacting us directly to book a slot, there is no admin burden for the school office.

We have a limited window this autumn/winter term because of the unpredictable nature of the weather, so please get in touch asap if you feel your school (or even just your group of immediate friends) could benefit from this service, and we’ll do the rest.

There is absolutely no charge for us to come and shoot, and there is absolutely no obligation to buy our images. We do not sell complex packages, key rings or CDs - just prints (from £7) and digital downloads (£10, or 3-for-2 for those that wish to avoid contact with printed materials). A small postage fee will deliver a professionally packaged print to your home address, and online payments via our password-protected galleries leaves the school office admin-free.
